President’s Message
To those that question why they should be members of ASCT, I can list the myriad of benefits that ASCT provides.
ASCT Cytoprep Lab Introductory Course Available
In July, ASCT will launch a new educational product. It’s a web course hosted by blackboard.com, entitled “Introduction to the Cytopreparation Laboratory”. This project was developed due to needs expressed from the ASCT membership to obtain assistance in training cytopreparatory personnel.
Spotlight on Region 2

Region 2 includes Missouri, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and Wyoming

Pretty daunting list! Fifteen states! Who are we? What do we need or want from ASCT? As I worked my way through the attendees at the meeting in Las Vegas, trying to meet as many as I could from Region 2, it occurred to me that we are so very diverse, practically the largest chunk of the United States. What did we have in common at all? Wondering how or if I could ever feel like I was representing even a miniscule portion of the members in that vast area.

See You in San Antonio, April 27-29!

Unleash Your Inner Artist
Every year, when the call for art for the ASC Art for Advocacy comes out, do you wonder, “should I send something in this year”? You might not think you have enough “talent” to enter or that maybe no one can appreciate your unique interpretations in clay or metal.

Education Corner
Recent graduates have been asking questions regarding the ASCP Certificate Maintenance Program (CMP). Some are worried that they won’t accrue enough points, others express concern about the expense and the lack of reimbursement from the workplace.
